Have you ever found a place where time’s freeze? I was alone in Serra da Estrela looking for a place where I could shoot this “lake” from the top. 10:00 am. This photo was taken with my camera (Canon) standing on a tripod and with the help of the incorporated wi-fi. Just me alone standing there with this view. Breathtaking.

The Convent of Christ is a former Roman Catholic convent in Tomar, Portugal. Originally a 12th-century Templar stronghold, when the order was dissolved in the 14th century the Portuguese branch was turned into the Knights of the Order of Christ, that later supported Portugal’s maritime discoveries of the 15th century.

I took this photo off the coast of Nazare, Portugal, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to. These two seagulls were just relaxing on a rock overlooking the beach.

The Medieval fortified village of Mãrvao is set up at great height over a rock surrounded by a Portuguese countryside landscape region of Alentejo, nearby the Spanish border. Mãrvao was an important stronghold in the defense of Portugal against Castilla, especially during the Portuguese Restoration War (17th century). However, in the 18th century went into decline and ceased to have an army, which allowed the preservation of many of its buildings of the 15th and 16th centuries. + INFO: https://www.portugaltravel.org/marvao

From land the ocean seems glossy and hard to see through. That is due to refraction and all the particles that block your sight from the ocean floor. From top, this distance is at its minimum, and the ocean floor just shows like a painting unveiling every rock, every grain of sand, every detail. I love it.

On the way back to my residence from a morning of surfing at the beach of Matadouro I had to capture the quietness of the streets in Ericeira. Whilst mornings are busy with cars rushing through the narrow alleys and evenings lively and filled with talk and laughter, the hours around noon display the town as sleepy and peaceful, as if resting under the midday sun.

Waves flushing through a straight limestone crack on the coast of Ericeira, Portugal. Mind-blowing what billions of waves over millions of years can do to solid rock.
